Application Process

Recommended Criteria for admission to the
PreDiploma Program:

Standard 1:

Prerequisite course work:

  • completed at least Algebra I with a B or better
  • completed at least French I, German I, or Spanish I with a B or better
  • completed Integrated Language Arts Above Grade Level with a B or better

Standard 2: GPA 3.0 or higher

Standard 3: Five Teacher Recommendations (core subjects)

Standard 4: Writing Sample

Standard 5: Personal Interview

Standard 6: Admissions Agreement signed by student and parent/guardian

Grade 9

  • 9 PreDip/Honors English
  • PreDip Geometry or Algebra II Trig
  • Language I or II (French, German, or Spanish)
  • PreDip/Honors World History/Geography
  • PreDip Biology
  • Health/Physical Education
  • Fine/Practical Arts Elective

Grade 10

  • 10 PreDip/Honors English
  • Algebra II/Trig or Analysis
  • Language II or III (French, German, or Spanish)
  • Government
  • PreDip/Honors Chemistry
  • Health/ Physical Education

Standard 2: GPA 3.20 or higher

Standard 3: Five Teacher Recommendations (core subjects)

Standard 4: Writing Sample

Standard 5: Personal Interview

Standard 6: Admissions Agreement signed by student and parent/guardian

Application Instructions

Please see instructions below for detailed information on submitting your application materials.

Students presently in grade 8 or making application for the first time:

  1. You may choose to complete the application online, save it to your computer and attach the document by email to Jason.Hollar@nn.k12.va.us before or by the deadline of January 6, 2017. You will receive a confirmation once it is received.
  2. There must be five teacher recommendations from current teachers. You will need to make five copies of the recommendation form and give it to your core teachers to complete. You also have the option of sending the form to the teachers as an attachment and they can complete it and send it to me as an attachment.
  3. You may choose to print the application and submit the completed hard copy. Your school counselor may be able to help you to send it to me via intra-office mail (pony).
  4. The application may be mailed, faxed, emailed, or hand-carried to the IB Office at Warwick High School on or before the deadline.

Students presently in grade 9 or 10 enrolled in the PreDiploma Program:

  1. You may choose to complete the application online, save it to your computer and attach the document by email to Jason.Hollar@nn.k12.va.us before or by the deadline of March 6, 2017.
  2. You do not need teacher recommendations.
  3. You may choose to print the application and submit the completed hard copy.
  4. The application may be mailed, faxed, emailed, or hand-carried to the IB Office at Warwick High School on or before the deadline.

Students presently in grade 11 enrolled in the Diploma Program

  1. You may choose to complete the application online, save it to your computer and attach the document by email to Jason.Hollar@nn.k12.va.us before or by the deadline of March 6, 2017.
  2. You do not need to write an essay and you do not need teacher recommendations.
  3. You may choose to print the application and submit the completed hard copy.
  4. The application may be mailed, faxed, emailed, or hand-carried to the IB Office at Warwick High School on or before the deadline.
